Travel on a Portofino Italy vacation and you will be transported to a different world. This quaint little seaside village is packed full of beautiful scenery, indescribably beautiful water ways, charming little buildings and homes and delicious dining from large upscale restaurants to quaint little family owned trattorias ready to serve you with a heaping helping of pasta filled with fresh seafood caught right outside the bay in front of you. Portofino, Italy, although small, will keep you busy from dawn until dusk with activities and shopping. You can make a day trip out of your visit to Portofino, but it is recommended to stay at least one night to get a true feeling of this incredible little town. You can access Portofino many ways, by train, car or water taxi. If you are not prone to sea sickness, I recommend catching the water taxi at Cinque Terre and travel to Portofino that way. It is a glorious ride along the breathtaking coastline.
